Taylor Swift “Completely in Shock” After Mass Stabbing Attack at Themed Event

Taylor Swift is speaking out amid a tragedy.

After a horrific stabbing attack took place at a children’s Swift-themed dance workshop in Southport, England, which left three children dead and eight other individuals critically injured—five among them children—the 34-year-old is expressing her grief.

“The horror of yesterday’s attach in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock…” Taylor wrote on her July 30 Instagram Story. “The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders.”

In an interview with Variety, prolific videogame voice actor, Jennifer Hale, whose credits include Mass Effect, Planescape: Torment, and the original Baldur’s Gate, defended SAG-AFTRA drilling down on AI protections for performers in its continued negotiations with major game publishers. Videogame voice actors have been on strike against publishers including EA, Activision, and Disney since July 26.

Five months after Brainiac let the secret slip, Rocksteady has confirmed that Mrs Freeze will headline the second season of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

That’s right, not Mr Freeze as we had assumed, but Mrs Freeze, aka Nora Fries, the wife of DC’s most chill bad guy. She was instrumental in the creation of her husband’s supervillain persona: His efforts to cryogenically freeze her until he could find a cure for her terminal illness led to a lab accident that turned him into Mr Freeze and, while Nora was eventually cured, she became a supervillain in her own right afterward. A new trailer from the PC Gaming Show highlights some key bits of new gameplay from Windblown, the next game from Dead Cells developer Motion Twin. Notably, Motion Twin wants it to be not just a good single player roguelite, but a cooperative one for up to 3 people.

First highlighted is Windblown’s ultra-high-speed dashes courtesy of a convenient back-mounted thruster carried by all three playable protagonists. They’re dang fast, blasting through multiple screens of the isometric-view action in seconds and arcing players over enemy attacks. Billionaire Elon Musk has said that humans with his company’s Neuralink brain chip installed will be nailing 360 noscopes better than the pros within two years. Speaking on an episode of the Lex Fridman podcast (full transcript), Musk went on to make some even wilder claims about the tech: including the idea that Neuralink is going to have to speed up human brains so that AI doesn’t get “bored”.

Update March 16, 2023: Intel has informed us that an interpretation of a comment given by Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, to CNBC’s Katie Tarasov—which seemed to suggest that it was open to using Intel’s Arizona fab for new GPU production—is incorrect.

Survival and crafting sensation Palworld already stole dozens of hours of my life earlier this year and now it’s trying to hijack my summer too. Pocketpair has been teasing its plans for the first major update to Palworld for this summer. In a new trailer at today’s Summer Game Fest, it revealed lots of other items on the feature list along with a release date: June 27.

Forspoken was a divisive game, one of those that felt a little half-baked: There was lots to love, and an abundance of ideas, but it ultimately left many players unsatisfied and feeling like the whole thing didn’t hang together. The Crew is being taken off the streets: Ubisoft announced today that sales of its online racing game have been halted on all storefronts, and it will no longer be playable on any platform after March 31, 2024.

“We understand this may be disappointing for players still enjoying the game, but it has become a necessity due to upcoming server infrastructure and licensing constraints,” Ubisoft said. “Decommissioning a game, and especially our first one, is not something we take lightly. 

“Our goal remains to provide the best action driving gameplay experience for players and to deliver on it, we are continuing to provide new content and support for The Crew 2 and the recently launched The Crew Motorfest.”

Focusing on pre-spaceflight civilisations, the First Contact pack includes new origins, new ways to interact with species that haven’t reached the stars yet, and (if you really want to screw with their heads) cloaking technology for your ships.
